Licensed Massage therapy is really a group of disciplines in one license. Here in Washington state, and in most other regions, Swedish Massage is usually the entry point for most professionals.
As with many professions, continuing education is required. This is how we expand into new massage disciplines, and or begin to choose favorites and specialties.

You never can tell which kind of therapist will be right for the job at the time; some specialize with fervor, others become a jack of all trades, and even still most of us are somewhere in between. And never discount a new therapist, sometimes they’re better than everyone simply on natural skill alone.
